Why I Am Here
When my baby girl arrived in 2024, my world turned upside down in the most beautiful yet challenging way. There I was – in a new town, far away from my family, going through the newborn trenches, and leaving the career I had worked so hard for because child care was just (and still is) INSANELY expensive.
Before I knew it, I barely recognized the woman in the mirror. That positive, put-together person? She seemed to disappear, replaced by someone who was honestly just super overwhelmed and scared, pouring every ounce of herself into being a mom – and nothing else.
I kept thinking I needed some major life overhaul to feel like myself again. The thought alone was so heavy and exhausting that I couldn’t get myself to do anything for me. My mental health plummeted, and that little voice in my head? Definitely more of an op than a cheerleader in my case.
At one of my lowest points, my husband (bless him) asked me a question that changed my mindset – what if, instead of desperately chasing my ‘old self,’ I got to know and love who I am now? That’s when I discovered the power of quiet resets – those tiny, intentional changes that add up to something amazing. No dramatic transformations, just small, purposeful steps that helped me feel whole again.
